Female pedestrian dies in Norwalk hit-and-run

NORWALK, Calif. (KABC) -- The search is on for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman in Norwalk Saturday morning.

Belen Nieves, 36, of Norwalk was walking from a party near Hopland Street and Elaine Avenue at about 12:50 a.m. when she was hit by a white Chevy Impala. Witnesses say the driver sped off.

Nieves was rushed to UCI Medical Center, where she later died.
