GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- The search is on for a bank robbery suspect who targeted a U.S. Bank branch on Valley View Street in Garden Grove.

Police say the suspect barged into the bank shortly before 1:40 p.m. Wednesday. He brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from one of the tellers.

According to authorities, the suspect jumped the counter and started emptying the cash out of the teller's work station. Then, police say he yelled across to another teller and ordered her to remove the money from her station as well.

Officials said the suspect took cash from both of the tellers' stations and fled on foot northbound through the parking lot. No vehicle was seen or heard. Responding officers searched the area but turned up nothing.

The suspect was described as an Asian man in his 20s. He was seen wearing a black long-sleeved T-shirt, a black baseball cap with a white front panel and black logo and sunglasses. If you have any information about the suspect's whereabouts, you're urged to contact the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5704.
