HEMET, Calif. (KABC) -- A violent crash in Hemet overnight caused a car to catch fire before a news photographer rushed to help, and it was all caught on camera.

California Highway Patrol officials said two cars crashed head-on after a sedan crossed double lines at a high rate of speed on Route 74 and Florida Avenue shortly before 1 a.m.

Dashcam video shows a man running to the sedan and busting out the windows before emergency crews arrived.

The car quickly filled up with smoke but rescuers managed to pull a woman, the only occupant, to safety.

She was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Four other people in the second car were also taken to the hospital, but everyone was expected to be OK.
