Infant death under investigation in Compton

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 3-month-old infant in Compton on Saturday.

Sheriff's homicide detectives headed to the 13000 block of South Harris Avenue at around 11:15 a.m. to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

Officials said the baby was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is unknown and will be determined by the coroner's office. No other information was available.
