Irvine bank robbery suspect sought

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- The Irvine Police Department is searching for a man who they say fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a bank Monday.

The robbery occurred at Union Bank in the 5300 block of University Drive at about 11:38 a.m.

According to police, the male suspect used a note to demand cash from the teller. A weapon was not seen. The man then robbed the teller and fled the scene on foot.

He was described as an adult male in his 30s, standing around 5 feet 10 inches, and weighing about 230 pounds. During the robbery, the suspect was seen wearing a blue baseball cap and a dark gray hooded sweatshirt.
