WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (KABC) -- Getting pulled over by a cop usually makes people cringe. But for some drivers in one Kentucky county, it made for a pleasant surprise.

Warren County sheriff's deputies stopped more than 50 locals on Monday -- not for bad driving or outstanding warrants, but to give cash! Deputies gave away $100 bills to drivers after an anonymous person donated $10,000 to the local sheriff.

One deputy pulled a woman over under the guise of issuing a warning for driving over the white line.

"I really didn't pull you over just for the white line. I just wanted to give you a little extra Christmas spending money or something," he says.

"Are you serious?" the woman asks incredulously. "Can I hug you?"

The deputies have given out about $5,500 so far and plan to continue with the unexpected gifts throughout the weekend.
