Fire damages religious bookstore near MacArthur Park

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Firefighters were investigating Saturday the cause of a fire at a religious bookstore in MacArthur Park.

The fire broke out shortly before 11 p.m. Friday at Libreria Cristiana Ebenezer in the 800 block of South Alvarado Street. It was contained to the commercial building, which had a tall attic space.

About 70 firefighters responded to the fire, which was extinguished in about 45 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
