Man fatally stabbed in Echo Park over skateboard

ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man in his 20s was stabbed to death by three suspects in Echo Park Friday after he refused to give up his skateboard.

Los Angeles police say the victim was walking in the 1500 block of West Sunset Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. when he was approached by three suspects. A fight ensued when one of the suspects demanded the victim's skateboard.

The victim was stabbed in the torso and the suspects fled the scene. The man was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects remain at large. No further information was released.
