ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A driver fled on foot, carrying a baby in his arms, after crashing his SUV into a building in Anaheim Friday night.

Police say the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and crashed through a cement block wall and into a patio area behind an apartment complex, located at the corner of Beacon Avenue and Falcon Street around 9:15 p.m.

Eyewitnesses who ran out to see what happened told Anaheim police a male driver grabbed a baby from the SUV's back seat and took off running.

It remains unknown if either occupants were injured.

Anyone with any information about the man who fled the scene with the baby was urged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
