SEATTLE (KABC) -- Horror and heroism were all caught on camera as a man tackled a gunman at Seattle Pacific University in 2014.
The surveillance video, released Tuesday, shows alleged gunman Aaron Ybarra stopping to reload his shotgun.
Student safety monitor Jon Meis can be seen running around a corner, firing pepper spray at Ybarra and tackling him.
Meis was then able to wrestle the gun out of Ybarra's hands.
Meis ran off with the gun and returned to grab Ybarra, kicking his hunting knife out of reach and holding him down until authorities arrived.
Officials said Ybarra killed one person and injured two others in the attack on June 5, 2014.
Ybarra's trial is scheduled to start in September, according to the Seattle Times. The video was released by the King County Attorney's Office.
