Man with knife killed by LAPD in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A police confrontation involving a man with a knife turned into a fatal officer-involved shooting on Thursday.

Police responded to a stabbing call in the 1500 block of Bayview Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man armed with a knife.

There was a confrontation, and officers opened fire. The man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were hurt. The officer-involved shooting is now under investigation.
