Man, woman found dead inside Canyon Country home

CANYON COUNTRY, SANTA CLARITA (KABC) -- A man and woman were discovered dead inside of a Canyon Country home Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the 19000 block of Pleasantdale Street around 6:15 p.m. A concerned caller told Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies from the Santa Clarita station that they wanted someone to check on the welfare of the residents at the home.

The caller said the residents hadn't been seen for several weeks and that a strong odor was coming from inside the house.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a man and woman inside the home in advanced stages of decomposition.

An autopsy will be performed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have not deemed their deaths suspicious.
