Manhattan Beach home-invasion robbers tie up residents

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for four home-invasion robbery suspects who broke into a Manhattan Beach residence and held the residents hostage before leaving with stolen goods.

Four suspects broke into a home on the 100 block of Morningside Drive at approximately 12:06 a.m. by breaking a lower-level window while the residents were away, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Dept.

When the residents arrived home, the suspects confronted them, tied their hands and beat the male resident. The male victim was forced to open a safe, and the suspects removed cash and guns.

The suspects ransacked the residence and fled in an unknown direction. Police said no vehicle was seen.

The victims were able to free themselves and dial 911.

Police released suspect descriptions Wednesday:

  • Suspect #1: Male, Hispanic/black, 20-25yrs, 5'8"-5'9", 140-150lbs, dark clothing/jacket
  • Suspect #2: Male, Hispanic, 20-35yrs, 6'0"-6'2", 220-240lbs, black clothing and stocking cap
  • Suspect #3: Male, Hispanic, 20-25yrs, 5'01"-6'0", 180-190lbs, goatee and baseball cap
  • Suspect #4: Male, Black, 19-25yrs, 5'8"-5'11", 160-170lbs, black clothing, "hoodie" and gloves
