MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A marijuana grow may be to blame for a house fire in Moreno Valley on Sunday morning.

Fire crews rushed to the fire at a home in the 11600 block of Via Colina Drive at about 11:30 a.m.

Authorities say the home had a wooden shed attached. Inside, police found about 70 marijuana plants and grow lamps.

The grow lamps are believed to be a contributing factor to the cause of the fire. Officers discovered that the home's power meter had an electrical by-pass.

Police confiscated the plants and arrested 21-year-old Eleobardo Torres for marijuana cultivation and theft of electrical utilities.
