LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A motorcyclist was shot and killed in Long Beach Friday morning. No arrests have been made.

The incident happened in a residential area on the 5500 block of Dairy Avenue around 2 a.m.

Police say they found the motorcyclist lying in the street. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as 28-year-old Marcel Johns of Long Beach. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was riding a motorcycle at the time he was shot, which caused him to collide into multiple parked unoccupied vehicles, according to the Long Beach Police Dept.

Several cars were also struck by gunfire.

"We just heard gunshots and we came out and we just saw the man on the floor. He crashed into my mom's car too," said Long Beach resident Consuelo Martinez.

No suspect description was immediately available.
