NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A motorcyclist died after a suspected drunk driver struck him and then fled the scene on Saturday in North Hollywood.

The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. at Magnolia Avenue and Lankershim Boulevard. The driver was making a left turn in front of the motorcyclist and crashed into him before driving away.

A witness followed the driver and called police. Los Angeles police officers arrested the driver without incident.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

The driver, who is in his 30s, was booked for possible vehicular manslaughter and DUI, according to Los Angeles police.
