SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Paakuma' K-8 School in San Bernardino made its debut Monday, stirring excitement for students and parents alike.

The school has been under construction for the past year. Now that classes are in session, Victoria Morales, the school's principal, says the parents are thrilled about not having to drive several miles to take their children to school.

One of the unique things about Paakuma' is that it's not just an elementary school. Because of the geography of the area, it services kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade.
