PANORAMA CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A fast-moving fire raced through an apartment building in Panorama City, injuring three people and displacing dozens of residents.

The flames broke out around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 9000 block of Cedros Avenue.

Two firefighters were injured and a female civilian suffered burns to her arm. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

It took more than 100 firefighters around 30 minutes to get the blaze under control. Three apartment units were completely gutted, and five sustained minor damage.

Firefighters say the situation could have been a lot worse.

"Anytime that we can walk away from a fire like this, things can be replaced but people can't," said Capt. Daniel Curry with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The Red Cross was called in to help the nearly 30 people who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
