Private dance instructor arrested for lewd acts with a child; police believe there are more victims

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 49-year-old Rancho Cucamonga private dance instructor was arrested on suspicion of performing lewd acts with a child 10 years old or younger, and investigators fear there may be more victims.

On Jan. 30, Rancho Cucamonga Police Department detectives arrested Jorge Tapia after an extensive investigation. He faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, oral copulation with a child under the age of 10 and sodomy with a child who is 10 years of age or younger.

He was booked into West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $1 million bail.

Because Tapia is a private dance instructor, he did not work at one particular location in the area. Detectives are concerned there are additional victims in the case.
