San Bernardino triple shooting: Suspect arrested
A suspected gang member was arrested for the early-morning shooting deaths of three men in San Bernardino on Friday.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Three men in their 20s died from injuries sustained in a shootout outside a 24-hour hookah lounge in San Bernardino this morning. A suspect was arrested for the triple homicide Friday afternoon.

Kavin Johnson, 26; David Lawler, 21; and Terry Freeman, 20, were killed. One man died at the scene and the other two died at a hospital.

Travon Stokes, 32, was arrested Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the location at 4 a.m. and found a crowd of about 60 people in the parking lot. The victims were reportedly hanging out in the 24-hour Ahalena Hookah Lounge before the shooting occurred.

A nearby business owner says there have been problems at the location before.

"They already have a bullet hole in the window from six months ago," said the owner.

San Bernardino Police say the suspect and at least one of the victims were gang members, and words were exchanged just before the shooting, including the name of a gang.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call San Bernardino Police at (909) 384-5742.
