HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A girls' basketball coach was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping a juvenile at a residence in Hermosa Beach.

Authorities say Timothy Lee Lucas, 31, was taken into custody at Manhattan Beach Middle School and booked at Hermosa Beach Police Department Jail.

The alleged rape happened about 18 months ago. Due to the victim's age, police said details about the incident are being withheld.

Lucas, a Cypress resident, has worked at several area schools including Mira Costa High School, Torrance West High School, Manhattan Beach Middle School and Bishop Montgomery High School.
