Stable fire leaves 7 animals dead near Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Seven animals died in a stable fire near Palmdale on Sunday.

Firefighters raced to the 5500 block of East Avenue T 10 around 12:45 a.m. in an unincorporated area just outside of Palmdale.

Flames were out in less than 20 minutes, but when fire crews searched the stable, they found four horses and three sheep dead.

Firefighters were able to save some animals, though an exact number was not given.

A cause for the fire was not immediately known.
