Suspect in fatal Chatsworth racing incident arrested; faces murder charges

CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The suspected driver in a deadly hit-and-run during an alleged illegal street race in Chatsworth Thursday was arrested Sunday morning and faces murder charges, according to LAPD. [br /][br /]Henry Gevorgyan, 21, is accused of driving a gray Ford Mustang that plowed into a crowd of onlookers, killing two spectators and seriously injuring another person.[br /][br /]Gevorgyan had been interviewed by LAPD detectives at a downtown Los Angeles police station after he decided to turn himself in. He was later arrested and booked at the LAPD Valley Jail in Van Nuys in lieu of $2 million bail.[br /][br /]The injured victim was said to be in critical but stable condition at a local hospital and is expected to survive. The two victims who were killed have been identified as 26-year-old Eric Siguenza and 50-year-old Wilson Wong.[br /][br /][photo ID="536598" /][br /][i]Eric Siguenza, 26, is seen in a DMV file photo.[/i][br /][br /]LAPD investigators said all three pedestrians were watching the [url HREF="http://abc7.com/news/chatsworth-fatal-street-racing-hit-and-run-driver-sought/535300/" TARGET="_blank" REL=""]street-racing event near Plummer Street and Canoga Avenue[/url] at the time of the crash.[br /][br /]Two cars were allegedly racing westbound on Plummer Street when Gevorgyan lost control, jumped the sidewalk and slammed into the pedestrians at about 2:30 a.m. He then fled the scene of the incident. [br /][br /]Police believe there were dozens of people who witnessed the incident.
