ALTADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Residents scrambled to hide when two men forced their way into an Altadena home Thursday night.

The home invasion happened in the 600 block of Figueroa Drive at about 10:40 p.m. Authorities say the suspects knocked on the door and asked to talk to someone who doesn't live at the house.

One suspect was wearing a plastic mask and had a handgun, police said, and the other was not wearing a mask.

When the female victim tried to shut the door, the suspects pushed their way inside.

The residents ran and hid and were not injured.

When the residents came out later, the suspects were gone. Nothing was taken from the home.

Police aren't sure if the suspects targeted the wrong house. The investigation into the incident continues.
