LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A young man's car was set on fire after he and a group of suspects got into an argument at a gas station.

Authorities received a call at 12:45 a.m. Saturday about a car on fire at Union 76 gas station at West Vernon Avenue and Figueroa Street.

The driver of a white Dodge Charger was pumping gas when he and three suspects allegedly got into a dispute. The group then decided to douse the man's vehicle in gasoline while his two passengers were still in the car. They were able to escape uninjured before the car was set on fire.

Los Angeles Fire Department investigators cordoned off the remains of a burned car after suspects set it on fire at a gas station on Saturday, April 11, 2015.

The driver's grandmother said the suspects pulled out a gun and attempted to carjack him.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is investigating the incident as an arson and no suspect information has been given. Surveillance video caught the dispute, but was not immediately released.

It is unclear if the incident was gang related.
