TGI Friday's employee pistol-whipped during robbery

WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A TGI Friday's employee was pistol-whipped during a robbery at the Woodland Hills restaurant early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to the 5900 block of Canoga Avenue at about 3 a.m. The workers were closing up when a masked suspect entered.

Police say the suspect hit one of the employees over the head with a gun and took money and cellphones.

The employees locked themselves in a room and called police. The suspect was able to flee before officers arrived.

A suspect description was not immediately available. Police are looking into whether the suspect was seen on surveillance video.
