UPLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- A lockdown was lifted at an Upland elementary school after a woman shot her mother-in-law with a pellet gun near campus Friday.
Pepper Tree Elementary, located in the 1000 block of 18th Street, shut down around 4:55 p.m. when Upland police responded to reports of a shooting nearby.
Officials said the woman went to the school and confronted her mother-in-law with a pellet gun and fired her weapon at least one time.
The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect is in custody, according to police.
Some students were at an after-school day care program at the time. They were evacuated safely shortly before 6 p.m.
