Video captures dangerous street racing on quiet Beverly Hills road

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- Two were caught on camera racing million-dollar cars down the streets of Beverly Hills.

Residents heard a deafening roar as a yellow Ferrari and white Porsche raced through Walden Drive, blowing past stop signs.

The video was recorded Saturday evening and it has gone viral. At one point, smoke is seen rising from the back of the Ferrari as it pulls into the driveway of a home.

"I heard a bunch of loud noises, looked outside. I saw a Ferrari coming down the street really fast. It kept on veering around, coming back and forth, back and forth. It was pretty loud," witness Aaron Esagoff said.

Residents called the police to report the reckless driving. Freelance journalist Jacob Rogers said he was angrily confronted by one of the men when he went to the door Monday afternoon asking about the incident.

"He still proceeded to push me. I started walking backward with my camera up on my shoulder and at that point, he punched the camera as I was trying to lift it up on my shoulder," Rogers said.

Neighbors said the drivers who live at the home are from Qatar and have only been in the area for a few months. They've seen several high-end cars in the driveway.

Police said the owner of the cars claimed to have diplomatic immunity. No citations or arrests were made because officers did not witness the violations. Neighbors said they are relieved no one was injured.

Beverly Hills police are investigating the incident and have been in contact with the U.S. State Department to learn about the men's diplomatic status.
