Police are hoping this surveillance video will lead to an arrest

JAMAICA, N.Y. -- Police are trying to identify a woman found incoherent and unresponsive on a Queens, New York street. Shocking and disturbing video obtained exclusively by Eyewitness News shows a man dumping her there.

The video shows the man in a dark-colored SUV pulling into a parking space along 131st Street near Jamaica Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He then walks around the corner, seemingly checking for witnesses, before returning to the vehicle and opening the passenger side door.

He then drags the woman's slumped-over body onto the sidewalk and props her up against the side of the building, hops back in the SUV and drives off. For nearly 20 minutes, she was left alone and vulnerable until police and medics arrived.

A nearby camera captured the entire incident.

The young woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she was placed on a ventilator.

The business owner whose security cameras captured the event still cannot believe the video.

"It's sad to see the way he kind of just left her without calling anybody or helping her at all," said the owner, who did not want to be identified. "It's disheartening."

He hopes the images may help police crack this case.

"Hopefully, whoever is responsible are caught," he said. "And the lady gets justice."

The victim remains unidentified. She was wearing blue jeans, a dark coat and multicolored sneakers.

The New York Police Department has the video and is attempting to identify the man. Anyone with information is asked to call (800) 577-TIPS.
