PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (KABC) -- Residents of a Pacific Palisades neighborhood were evacuated from their homes for more than 10 hours after large amounts of weapons and ammunition were found in one home on Saturday afternoon.
A bomb squad was called over to the house, located in the 1700 block of Palisades Drive, around 12:20 p.m. Saturday to remove the items.
Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution. Palisades Drive was closed for several hours, but reopened by 11 p.m., authorities said.
Residents say the owner of the home was found dead inside his van, which was parked outside the home. Authorities were investigating a possible suicide Friday afternoon.
