Wild police chase out of Palmdale ends in Culver City; suspect arrested
CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was arrested Monday after leading authorities on a wild police chase from Palmdale to Culver City and spending hours barricaded on a rooftop.
The high-speed chase began on the 14 Freeway at about 12:45 p.m. Police chased the white SUV on the southbound 14 Freeway, the 5, the 170, and then the 101 Freeway at speeds topping 100 mph at times.
The vehicle exited the 101 Freeway at Melrose Avenue and was on multiple surface streets in the Mid-City area, the Palms area and Culver City. At one point, the suspect backed into a parking garage, stopped, and then sped off again.

The chase ended at about 1:40 p.m. A female passenger was taken into custody while the driver fled on foot.

A perimeter was set up near Lucerne Avenue and Lafayette Place. The suspect was on a roof in the 9600 block of Lucerne Avenue, at times pacing back and forth. At one point, he opened a water tap and washed himself off. He also moved cinder blocks toward a door to the roof to build a makeshift barricade.
By about 5 p.m., the suspect was seen leaving the roof, and authorities quickly detained him.
The suspect was wanted for a drive-by shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and authorities were unsure if he was armed.
