MONTCLAIR, Calif. (KABC) -- The investigation continues into the execution-style murder of two men in a Montclair garage, and a woman is worried one of the victims may be her brother.
Montclair police received a call Sunday night about residents hearing gunshots in the area. When police arrived at the scene, they found two men duct-taped and shot to death.
"The two bodies were found inside the garage. They were tied up, they were restrained basically with their hands behind their back, and what appears to be shot in the head execution-style," Sgt. Bryon Kelly said.
A man who lives in the house on the property with his family said he heard the gunshots about 6:45 p.m. and saw the third victim running away. He immediately called police.
"There was a third victim that was seen running from the scene," said Montclair Police Sgt. Bryon Kelly. "We did send a bloodhound out trying to track the scent. However, about two or three blocks away, the bloodhound lost the scent."
The man who escaped was only described as a man in his 20s with a cut to his neck.
One woman, who arrived at the scene of the horrific double murder, said she is worried one of the victims is her sibling.
"I'm looking for my brother," said Yalile Padilla, her voice shaking.
Padilla believes her 34-year-old brother was one of the victims in the execution-style killings that took place on the property Sunday night. Her brother is a husband and a father of three young boys.
When asked if her brother had mentioned any conflicts at work, she responded, "No, no problems with nobody."
Padilla said her brother is a mechanic at the auto body shop run out of a detached garage on the property, where police say two men in their 30s were found bound and gagged, shot in the back of the head.
The names of the two victims have not yet been released.
Police have not determined a motive for the crime, but said it was likely not random.
Anyone with further information was urged to contact the Montclair Police Department at (909) 621-4771.
