VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was slapped on the butt while running at Grant Park in Ventura by a man seated next to a path, police said.

The male suspect, who was seated near the 600 block of Brakey Road, allegedly reached out and slapped the woman's butt at about 3:40 p.m. Sunday. She turned to face the man, who then grabbed her wrists and would not let her go until she tried kicking him.

The woman then ran away. She was not injured during the incident.

Three months ago, the suspect had followed the woman on the same trail and made vulgar comments to her, police said. She yelled at the suspect, who then fled. At the time, the victim did not report the incident.

The victim also saw the suspect three weeks ago, but was able to avoid him.

She told police she does not know the man.

The suspect is described as about 18 to 19 years old, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with black hair and a short buzz cut. He was clean shaven and wearing rectangle reading glasses, a light blue shirt and black basketball shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4309.
