ZIRX offers on-demand valet parking for $15

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- As Alex Weidner knows all too well, parking in Los Angeles can be a pain, but with the tap of an app, he has a personal valet waiting to do it for him.

ZIRX, which has been operating in San Francisco and Seattle, has now moved to Southern California, offering on-demand valets in downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood.

"It's very convenient for me. I live locally and I'm using it almost every day," said Weidner, a partner at The Well.

For $15 per day, a valet will pick up your vehicle, park it in a secure garage and then return it when you're ready.

The founder of ZIRX, Sean Behr, says it's all about saving time and convenience.

"The great thing is while we have your car we can fill it up with gas, we can charge it up if it's an electric car, we can wash it, do some oil changes on it -- all designed to make your life a little bit easier," Behr said.

To ensure your safety, customers are sent a picture of the driver and a four digit security code, which only the customer and the driver know, to make sure the vehicle goes to the right person.

Every agent is vetted and background checked and each vehicle is covered by a $2 million insurance policy from the moment it's picked up until it's dropped off.

For an extra fee, you can leave your car overnight or even have it delivered to your home.

Weidner has used ZIRX so much he signed up for the $299 unlimited monthly access, preferring to leave the parking to the pro.

"Price aside, the convenience sometimes, you pay for it, you know. It's been a very efficient and good service, so it's kind of worth the price," Weidner said.
