MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County firefighters said 30 people were stung by stingrays at Venice and Santa Monica beaches on Sunday.

The warm temperatures and calm waters are attracting the stingrays. Last week, hundreds of stingrays were spotted at Mother's Beach in Marina Del Rey.

Lifeguards say you can shuffle your feet in the water to get stingrays to move away.

The heat wave brought over two million people to L.A. County beaches on Saturday and Sunday.
