Cool Kid Austin Delos Santos devotes himself to finding forever homes for animals

MISSION HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, July 21, is Austin Delos Santos, who is giving abandoned animals a second chance.

Austin has been working at the Best Friends Animal Society in Mission Hills for two years. He walks, feeds and bathes the animals, as well as trains and mentors new volunteers.

After his family adopted a pet, Austin said he realized there were many animals in need of a home, especially pit bulls.

He hopes he can help inspire others to volunteer and dedicate their time to finding forever homes for animals.
