Bruno the Anaheim K-9 and Luna the rescued sea otter pup are two of the top 7 animals of 2014.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Many animal videos went viral this year, but we've narrowed it down to the top seven remarkable animals of 2014.

7. SCARIEST: A white cobra that roamed a Thousand Oaks neighborhood is on our list as the scariest animal. This reptile spent three days out on the loose before being caught. The cobra now has a new home at the San Diego Zoo.

6. MOST ENTERPRISING: A clever Colorado bear dragged off a restaurant dumpster in surveillance video. The video was a massive hit.

5. CLOSEST CALL: California Chrome, a race horse, had a shot at being the first triple-crowned winner in 36 years, but he came up short. In the end the horse still won the love of hundreds of fans.

4. MOST LIKED AND SHARED: What may have been the elusive Chupacabra was captured in April and became our most shared and liked story. It got more than 38,000 likes and more than 80,000 shares on our Facbeook page.

3. CUDDLIEST: A rescued sea otter pup was one of the cutest stories this year. "Good Morning America" teamed up with Chicago's Shedd Aquarium for a naming contest. The name Luna won and she's doing well at her new home in Chicago.

2. MOST INSPIRATIONAL: The most inspirational animal is Bruno, an Anaheim K-9 dog who was shot by a gang member during a manhunt in March. After several surgeries, he was finally able to go home to his partner Officer R.J. Young.

1. UNLIKELIEST HERO: The No. 1 spot goes to Tara, a Bakersfield cat who pounced on a dog that attacked her 4-year-old owner. The video was a viral sensation. Tara the cat went on to throw a pitch at a baseball game and was the grand marshal at the Bakersfield Christmas parade.
