VIDEO: Puppies dressed as Disney characters
People love puppies, and people love Disney. Now, the two are combining in an effort to help find homes for the dogs.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- People love dogs. And people love Disney characters.

Now the two are combining!

The folks at the Oh My Disney blog released a video of puppies dressed as Disney characters just in time for the holidays.

"We asked ourselves as a team, 'what are we thankful for?' And we kind of thought: the Disney movies and cute animals," said Oh My Disney editor Emily Brandon.

There's Captain Jack Sparrow, Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin and Jasmine, the cast of "Tangled," and "The Little Mermaid" herself - Ariel - complete with a sea shell bikini top.

Some dogs appeared to enjoy this shoot more than others.

"They had a hard time; a hard time with the wigs, and a really a hard time staying in character. I mean, you had Olaf kissing Elsa, which would never happen in the movie," Brandon joked.

Now there is a message behind all of this silliness. All of these dogs are available for adoption at Hands, Paws & Hearts in Lancaster.

"...to send the message for people to adopt rather than shop is really important," said Steve Spiro, a volunteer at Hands, Paws & Hearts who hopes theses starring roles lead to forever homes

"And if it gets more dogs adopted, then they should be wearing costumes every single day."

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
