Menifee woman offers $10K discount on house for Black Friday

MENIFEE, Calif. (KABC) -- Many people look for deals on electronics and toys on Black Friday, but how about a house? One woman in Menifee is offering a very big discount on the busiest shopping day of the year.

Not only is Mary Allen's home in great shape, fully landscaped, with a pool - but she's desperate to sell in a hurry.

"Come make me an offer," Allen said.

If you do so before the end of Black Friday, you'll get a special deal - $10,000 off the listing price of $329,900.

"It's the best Black Friday sale out there," she said.

So why is she in such a rush to sell?

"My mom is 93, and she lives alone in Wisconsin," she said.

When her first buyer fell out of escrow after she'd already given notice at her job and sold almost all her furniture, she found herself in a tough spot.

"All my furniture is gone, so my house doesn't show as well," she said.

Hence the Black Friday offer. Her realtor Tim Hoferer says it wasn't his idea.

"I can't think of a time I've had a client have a Black Friday sale," Hoferer said.

"I don't know how he feels about the commission part. We'll work on that," Allen said.

So while some are desperate for sales on Black Friday, Allen is simply desperate to sell.

To the shoppers out there who line up in front of retailers days in advance, Allen has this message:

"Line up at my house, please. You can camp out, I'll make hot chocolate, whatever you want," she said. "Just buy my house."
