Holiday shopping tips to score the best deals
Simply walking up and down the aisles of your favorite store will show you only some of the deals you can get this shopping season.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Simply walking up and down the aisles of your favorite store will show you only some of the deals you can get this shopping season.

Andrea Woroch is a consumer savings expert who says retailers, like Kmart, are being very creative in order to get your business.

"Stores are more competitive than ever and prices are going to be all over the map," said Woroch.

Brick and mortar stores know online shopping is huge, so they are providing online shopping inside the store.

"A lot of retailers are offering kiosks so that consumers who don't have Internet or computers at home can take advantage of online exclusives and better online deals," said Woroch.

And if you find a good price online, stores still want your business.

"A lot of retailers these days, even online, are offering to price match competition so if you're shopping online you can open up a live chat, or even call customer service to see if they'll price match or extend any expired coupons, and even waive shipping fees," said Woroch.

And this year, price matching doesn't stop there.

"Some may even match competitor coupons so bring in the circulars, print out coupons from the website, or you may even use mobile apps like Coupon Sherpa," said Woroch.

Even after you a buy an item you, can still save money with price adjustments. But some stores are taking it a step further.

"This holiday season, retailers are going to be allowing you to get price adjustments through the holiday season. If you purchase something now, and then notice it goes on sale, ask the retailer if they'll give you a credit, and they might even give you a credit if it goes on sale at a competitor's store," she said.

Woroch also said because there are fewer days this shopping season, retailers are promoting sales earlier.

"Even Home Depot was offering 25 to 45 percent off appliances, so you can find lots of sales on these big-ticket items," she said.

And here's a way around some shipping costs: free in-store pick-up.

"This way you could avoid all shipping fees, and pick up gifts in-store while taking advantage of the online deals and avoid long lines," she said.

Remember: Free shipping day is coming up on Dec. 18.
