A gross-out incident at an Oregon bookstore had a happy ending thanks to sweet apology note from a young boy.
Powell's Books is an independent bookstore group based in Portland. Last month, a boy named Jack vomited at one of the bookstore's locations.
"Somebody just told me that their friend puked right outside the bathroom, and sure enough there it was," manager Jennifer Wicka told ABC. "It was spread out really far, like 10 feet in diameter."
Shortly after the incident, the bookstore received an apology letter from Jack, along with a Ben and Jerry's gift card. Portland resident and author Liz Crain shared the hilarious apology on her Twitter feed.
Addressed with "Attention Barf Cleaners," the apology has quickly gone viral.
"This Ben and Jerry's card is for the people who cleaned up the throw up of a kid on Friday the 28th. I dont know their names but I thank them a lot and I'm sorry again for throwing up and hope you enjoy your Ice cream.
"From Jack, AKA the kid that puked right next to the bathroom."
Wicka says that her staff was touched by the boy's gesture.
"It's just always nice to be reminded that there are good kids out there," Wicka told ABC.
The letter was shared to Reddit by an employee of the store, where it quickly reached the front page. "Kids in my area frequently surprise me with how cool they are. Almost like small human beings," user heyredditheyreddit said.
Other Reddit users were impressed by the boy's apology, "That kid is going places. Classy move!" wrote Reddit user gilbad.
"That's just adorable. His parents are doing a good job. Polite and empathetic," wrote Reddit user kittenkat4u.
