SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (KABC) -- Cool Kid Kinsale Hueston, who is half-white and half-Native American, writes poetry to express her struggles with her diverse ancestry.

The 17-year-old was honored at the Library of Congress for her moving poetry at this year's National Student Poet.

Hueston also started a Native American culture club at her school, St. Margaret's Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, educating peers about her heritage and diversity.
