MURRIETA, Calif. (KABC) -- Brian Ladd and his wife celebrated the July Fourth weekend with volunteers who helped with repairs the veteran couldn't get to in his Murrieta home.
"These people have been amazing. They've come in and done what I couldn't," said retired U.S. Marine Brian Ladd, who was injured during his third tour of duty in Iraq.
HomeStrong's USA's Heroes Home Repair Program chose the couple out of a pool of applicants. State Farm Insurance made the project possible with a $25,000 grant.
A legion of volunteers put in drought tolerant landscaping and tackled a list of items the Ladds had on the back burner.
