LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- They are stories of struggles and tales of triumph, the immigrant experience put to music.
It's the sounds of Los Dreamers, a new musical collaboration that draws inspiration from stories told by actual dreamers, young people who were children when they were came to the U.S. illegally.
Raul Pacheco is a founding member of the Los Angeles band Ozomatli, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. He says the Los Dreamers project started as a stage play then evolved into a full-length album.
"What we're trying to do is to humanize what it means to be an undocumented person," Pacheco said.
Pacheco collaborated on the record with Denver-based musician Shawn King.
