Dodgers starter Kazmir has MRI; no serious damage found

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Scott Kazmir had an MRI on his left hip Wednesday that showed no signs of serious injury.

Kazmir left his start Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies after one pitch in the second inning. He said afterward that he had been dealing with hip issues since last season. Last year's problems ultimately led to neck inflammation that forced him to the disabled list for a month late in 2016.

The veteran pitcher, who signed a three-year, $48 million free-agent contract before the 2016 season, said he has no pain in the hip, just restricted movement, and called that a positive.

Kazmir will continue to rehabilitate his hip with team trainers, and it is unknown when the 33-year old will make his next Cactus League outing. He had been in line to be the team's fourth or fifth starter for the upcoming season.
