JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory was admitted to a Jacksonville hospital Sunday morning with what the team is calling a general medical issue.

The Jaguars later released a statement saying that Ivory was "doing well and is expected to be released from the hospital in the next day or two."

A source told ESPN's Jeff Darlington that Ivory was admitted for precautionary reasons, resulting from an issue unrelated to his injured calf.

Ivory had been limited in practice last week with the calf injury, but that was not expected to keep him from playing Sunday. T.J. Yeldonstarted in Ivory's place.

Yeldon finished with 39 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the Jaguars' 27-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Jaguars signed Ivory to a five-year, $32 million contract in March. He has rushed for 4,031 yards and 24 touchdowns in six seasons with the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets.
