Landon Donovan is earning $456,000 with the LA Galaxy in his return to Major League Soccer, according to data released by the MLS Players Union.
The 34-year-old forward came out of retirement after a year and half,signing a contract on Sept. 11 through the end of the season.
Donovan, who earned $4.25 million in his final full season in 2014, rejoined the Galaxy with six games left in the regular season.
The MLS Players Union revealed MLS salary information in a late-season update that includes players who joined the league in the secondary transfer window this summer.
U.S. midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, who joined the Philadelphia Union from French club Nantes, has a $1.1 million base salary this year, with guaranteed compensation of nearly $1.17 million.
Nicolas Lodeiro is making $1.74 million in total compensation after sparking the Seattle Sounders on their late playoff push.
Lodeiro arrived immediately after the Sounders sacked longtime coach Sigi Schmid, along with Alvaro Fernandez ($294,000) and Herculez Gomes ($62,500).
The San Jose Earthquakes are payingforward Henok Goitom $729,300, though the Swedish striker has only started twice and is yet to score.
Other notable new players listed include New York City FC defenderMaxime Chanot at $383,004, Red Bulls midfielder Daniel Royer at $375,000 and forward Omer Damari at $229,000, Montreal midfielder Hernan Bernardello at $216,000, Columbus defender Nicolai Naess at $207,504, and Portland defender Vytautas Andriuskevicius at $204,992.
