Zlatan Ibrahimovic has yet to be offered a contract from Manchester United, his agent said on Monday.
Days before Ibrahimovic plays his final game for Paris Saint-Germain, RMC in France reported that United had already sent the Swede a one-year offer.
But hisagent Mino Raiola went on Sky Sports News to refute the report as mere speculation.
"In this world we have to accept some journalists use their imagination and make things up," Raiola said. "The story is not factual."
Ibrahimovic confirmed on Friday that he would be leaving the Parc des Princes, and celebrated PSG's Ligue 1 trophy after his final game there a day later.
"I know what I will do next year but I wouldn't tell you," he said after the game.
Sources told ESPN FC this week that Ibrahimovic is in "delicate" discussions to move to MLS next year.
However, he will have to wait until 2017 to join his preferred club, the LA Galaxy, as they currently have a full complement of designated players, whose salaries do not count fully against the league's cap.
A source said "it might be possible" for the Galaxy to loan Ibrahimovic to a European team until January, then bring him back to Southern California for the start of the next MLS season in March.
Ibrahimovic will conclude his PSG career on Saturday in the Coupe de France final against Marseille.
