Under Armour and UCLA announced a 15-year schoolwide shoe and apparel deal worth $280 million on Tuesday.

Under Armour posted an announcement on Twitter welcoming UCLA to the Baltimore-based company, and the school announced later that it had agreed to the largest apparel deal in the history of the NCAA. The dealtakes effect July 1, 2017.

In January, Ohio State said its 15-year deal with Nike was worth $252 million. Texas signed a 15-year deal with Nike worth $250 million in October, and Michigan signed an 11-year deal, with a four-year option, that could be worth up to $173.8 million.

Of all those schools, UCLA has gone the longest having not won a title in either college football or men's basketball, last winning the men's basketball tournament in 1995. UCLA has, however, won more championships than any other school, thanks in part to its excellence in softball, volleyball and water polo.

"UCLA has always been about challenging the status quo and breaking through barriers,'' UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said in a statement. "Under Armour shares those core values. They are about more than simply making athletes look good, they constantly pursue innovation in order to make athletes better."

Securing UCLA gives Under Armour an even stronger West Coast presence, as the company signed Cal just last month.

In the past few years, Under Armour has gotten more aggressive with college team deals, outbidding Adidas on both Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosencommented on the deal on Instagram, saying: "We're still amateurs though ... Gotta love non-profits #NCAA." Rosen later deleted the post.

UCLA had been with Adidas since 1999.
