In a story by Zach Helfand of the Los Angeles Times, USC Trojans defensive lineman Stevie Tu'ikolovatushares details from the period of time thathe and his wife spent living in his car while he waited for his transcript to transfer from the University of Utah to the University of Southern California.
A desire for more playing time and an interest in pursuing a specific path after football led Tu'ikolovatu to Los Angeles for his final season of eligibility. But a few hiccups with paperwork resulted in the 6-foot-1, 320-pound lineman living in his car for almost a month and a half sinceNCAA rules limit university assistance until a recruit is officially enrolled.
"It started getting comfortable towards the end because my body sort of adjusted to sleeping in a car,"Tu'ikolovatu told the Times.
The day before USC training camp began in early August,Tu'ikolovatu and his wife moved into university housing. Since then, he has been a strong component to the Trojans' defense, posting nine total tacklesthis season.
